Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about the ILEETA? We've got answers. Learn about becoming a new member and all the benefits or how to renew your current membership. Also about our 2024 Conference & Expo.
What is ILEETA’s mission?
The mission of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA) is to inspire excellence in law enforcement training and education by developing exceptional instructors, sharing effective practices, and strengthening a global community dedicated to lifelong learning, leadership, and public safety.
Who belongs at ILEETA?
ILEETA is for anyone dedicated to improving the quality, safety, and impact of law enforcement training. Our members include academy instructors, field trainers, command-level leaders, researchers, curriculum designers, and industry partners who share a common goal—to inspire excellence in law enforcement training and education.
Members join ILEETA to connect with a global network of peers, exchange ideas, access professional development resources, and contribute to the ongoing advancement of the profession. Whether you teach at a local academy, lead an agency’s training program, or develop technology that supports public safety education, there’s a place for you in ILEETA.
The annual ILEETA Conference & Expo is one way members come together to collaborate and learn, but membership extends far beyond a single event—it’s a year-round community of trainers helping trainers.
Who can join ILEETA?
ILEETA seeks to share knowledge and skills among its thousands of members to help you provide better instruction to those you serve. We do not seek best practices but are instead always in search of better practices to continually evolve our profession. Whether you are newly assigned to training or have decades of experience, you will find value in belonging to ILEETA.

Members are invited to submit articles for consideration in the ILEETA Journal, which features practical lessons, innovative training ideas, and professional perspectives from trainers around the world.
To review submission guidelines and learn how to contribute, visit https://www.ileeta.org/ileeta-publications-submission-guidelines/.
Does ILEETA post upcoming training?
When ILEETA began creating E-Bulletins we were inundated with requests to post upcoming training announcements, (not surprising since we are an organization of trainers). So we partnered with PoliceTraining.net and put a link on our web site to this service. They are the go to place for trainers to look for training by subject, date or location and they are very reasonable. The E-Blasts that appear in the E-Bulletins are restricted to ILEETA Corporate Sponsors and the only other posting you might see for training in the e-bulletins would be for free training.
