Meet John Bostain Advisory Board Member
John Bostain is a Program Specialist in the Rural Policing Institute (RPI) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). John has served FLETC since 2001 as a Control Tactics Instructor and Use of Force Instructor in both basic and advanced training programs. As a Program Specialist, John teaches Use of Force and facilitates other training throughout the United States and currently serves as the editor of the ILEETA Use of Force Journal.
Prior to joining FLETC, John was a police officer with the Hampton Police Division in Hampton, VA. As a member of HPD, John enjoyed assignments as a uniform patrol officer, narcotics investigator, patrol supervisor, detective and police academy instructor. John was also an entry team member on the Division’s SWAT team for four years. John has been a law enforcement trainer for the past ten years and has instructed a variety of law enforcement topics such as use of force, defensive tactics, firearms, defensive driving and others. He has also presented at a number of international training conferences.
John is a charter member of ILEETA.
