CALL FOR PROPOSALS 2008 ILEETA International Training Conference and Expo April 1 thru April 5, 2008 • (Chicago Area)The International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA) will conduct its 2008 International Training Conference and Expo at the Westin Chicago North Shore on April 1 thru April 5, 2008. Developed for criminal justice instructors, this conference has a two-pronged focus: keeping officers alive and safe from harm, and improving instructional delivery to criminal justice professionals. We are actively seeking presentation proposals for this conference. Along with the scheduled training tracks, we will also be hosting a number of one-day specialized instructor certification programs. There will be six individual training tracks; Instructor/Armorer Certification, Instructor Development, Management & Administration of Training, Officer Safety and Survival, Defensive Tactics and Other Specialized Topics. You must be an ILEETA member in good standing for your proposal to be considered. The deadline for receiving your proposal at ILEETA Headquarters IS OCTOBER 1, 2007. ELECTRONIC SUBMISSIONS ONLY, PLEASE. YOU MUST USE THE FORM DOWNLOADED FROM THIS PAGE. Proposals should be for a 1.75 hour presentation (to be presented twice), one presentation of approximately 4 hours, or for one 8 hour presentation in the Instructor Certification track. The Instructor Certification track instructor certifications will not be from ILEETA, but from the company that offers the certification. ILEETA does not certify any instructor programs. Conference registration fees will be waived for one primary instructor, and a donation of $100 will be made to the Scholarship Fund in the presenter's name. If two instructors are required for "hands-on" presentations, the second instructor must register for and pay the full conference fee. The assisting instructor will be listed in the Conference Program along with the primary instructor. ILEETA will issue a CD-ROM with conference handout material to all registrants for the "2008 ILEETA International Training Conference." All presenters will provide us with a copy of their handouts as an MS Word DOC file, Adobe Acrobat PDF file, or a MS PowerPoint PPT or PPS file, so we can include the material on this CD (instructors will receive detailed instructions for this submission when they receive official notification of their acceptance as a presenter). Instructors that choose to also use paper handouts are responsible for the duplication costs of all their handout material. Deadline for submission of CD-ROM materials is FEBRUARY 1, 2008. We will have a limited supply of LCD projectors, overhead projectors, display screens, flip charts and easels, VHS players and TVs, and lecterns available for use. We will not have microphones or sound systems available. If you need a PC for your presentation, please bring your own. It would also greatly help if you can provide any of the above listed audio/visual equipment for your own use.
