
Meet Dave Grossman
Advisory Board Member

Lt. Col. Grossman is a former West Point
psychology professor, Army Ranger, internationally recognized scholar, author,
soldier, and speaker, and author of the Pulitzer-nominated book On Killing.
Col. Grossman is co-author of Stop Teaching Our Kids to Kill. He has
authored/co-authored three entries to the Encyclopedia of Violence, Peace, and
Conflict and an entry to The Oxford Companion to American Military History, He
is one of the world’s foremost experts in the field of human aggression and the
roots of violent crime, as well as how to deal with and prevent killing. Col.
Grossman has testified before U.S. Senate and Congressional committees and
numerous state legislatures with regard to the effects of violence in the media
on children. He trained mental health professionals in the aftermath of the
Jonesboro shootings, and has been an expert witness and consultant in several
murder cases including those of Timothy McVeigh and Michael Carneal. In the
year 2000, Col. Grossman presented papers to the annual conventions of the
American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, and the American
Psychological Association.
